These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the HVC Expedite website at hvcexpedite.websitedesignagency.online and any services we provide to you. By using the website or booking a service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or our services.

If we agree to a written quote or booking confirmation that differs from these Terms, the quote or confirmation controls for that job.

Our services

HVC Expedite provides specialized transportation, including high-value and fragile cargo, emergency and expedited delivery, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, legal documents and business equipment, hand-carry service, live animals, vehicle driving and delivery, auto transport and household moving. Services are available from the Minneapolis area and the Upper Midwest to destinations in the United States and Canada. Please confirm your specific route with us before booking.

Descriptions on our website are general. We may decline a job, or part of one, if we cannot do it safely, legally or reliably.

Quotes and pricing

Prices shown on our website, including per-mile rates, daily driving rates and example estimates, are for general guidance only. They are not a binding offer. Your final price is the price in the written or emailed quote or booking confirmation we give you.

• Per-mile pricing is based on one-way mileage, which may be rounded up and may include additional distance needed to reach your pickup.
• Driving service is priced per day, plus actual fuel and flights, unless your quote says otherwise.
• Moving and specialty shipments are quoted individually.
• Fuel, tolls, flights, lodging, crew and equipment costs may be added if they are part of your quote.
• Quotes are based on the information you give us. If the details change, such as extra items, a different route, waiting time or additional stops, the price may change.

Booking, pickup and delivery

A job is confirmed when we agree to it in writing, including by email or text, or when we begin the work at your request. Pickup and delivery times are estimates unless we have expressly agreed to a guaranteed time in writing. Where a time is guaranteed, the quote will say so.

You or your authorized representative must be available at the pickup and delivery locations, or you must tell us who to deal with. We may charge for waiting time and for repeated attempts caused by unavailable contacts or inaccessible locations.

Your responsibilities

• Give us complete and accurate information about the items, their weight, size, value and condition, and any special handling needs.
• Make sure you own the items or are authorized to ship them.
• Pack and prepare items properly for transport unless we have agreed in writing to do it.
• Tell us before booking about any legal, regulatory, temperature or security requirements that apply, including documents and permits.
• For vehicles, remove personal belongings unless we have agreed otherwise, and disclose mechanical problems, leaks and existing damage.
• Pay the agreed charges.

Items we cannot carry

Unless we have agreed in writing, we do not accept:

• illegal goods, or anything that is unlawful to possess or transport,
• hazardous or dangerous materials, explosives and weapons,
• cash, negotiable instruments and similar items,
• anything you have not accurately described to us.

We may refuse or stop a job, and may charge for work already done, if we believe an item is prohibited or unsafe.

Pharmaceuticals, medical items and live animals

Pharmaceuticals, medical devices and live animals can be subject to special handling rules. We accept these jobs only after you tell us what is required and we confirm in writing that we can meet it. You remain responsible for any regulatory paperwork, labeling, health certificates and permits that apply to the shipment, and for the proper packaging or containers.

Insurance, loss and damage

HVC Expedite carries insurance. The coverage that applies to a specific shipment, including whether we can arrange a shipment-specific certificate, depends on the item and the arrangement, and we will confirm it with you before we begin. Tell us the declared value of high-value items before booking.

Please inspect your items on delivery and note any visible damage or shortage on the delivery receipt. Report any loss or damage to us in writing as soon as possible, within the time stated in your booking confirmation, and include photos and a description. We may need to inspect the item and the packaging. We handle claims in line with the applicable insurance and legal requirements.

Delays and events outside our control

We will work to meet agreed timeframes, but we are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, road closures, accidents, mechanical breakdowns, border or customs delays, government action, or delays in access to a location. We will keep you informed where we can.

Changes and cancellations

Please tell us as early as possible if you need to change or cancel. If you cancel after we have committed to your job, for example after a driver has been dispatched or a vehicle, flight or crew has been arranged, you may be charged for the time, mileage and expenses already incurred. Any specific cancellation terms in your quote apply.

Payment

Payment terms, including any deposit and the accepted payment methods, are stated in your quote or invoice. We may withhold delivery of items until payment is made where the law and your agreement allow it. Late or unpaid amounts may be subject to collection costs where permitted by law.

Using this website

You agree to use the website lawfully and not to:

• submit false or misleading information, including through our estimate form,
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or its systems,
• interfere with the site’s operation, or introduce malware,
• copy or scrape the site in bulk without our permission.

Intellectual property

The website content, including text, layout, logos and graphics, belongs to HVC Expedite or its licensors and is protected by law. You may view and print pages for your own personal or business use in connection with our services. You may not otherwise copy, republish or sell our content without our written permission. Some images on the site come from third-party providers and remain the property of their owners.

Our website may link to or load content from other sites and services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, and subject to the insurance coverage we confirm for your job, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the website or our services is limited to the lesser of the direct loss you suffer or the declared value of the affected item or the amount you paid for the job. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost business, loss of use or missed deadlines, except where the law does not allow us to exclude them.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Your responsibility for claims

You agree to cover reasonable losses and costs that we incur because you gave us inaccurate information, shipped a prohibited item, or breached these Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, unless the law requires otherwise. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue directly.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version posted on this page, with its “Last updated” date, applies to your use of the website. A job you have already booked remains subject to the terms in place when you booked it, unless we both agree otherwise.
